The Great American Bash

The Great American Bash is one of the most watched events on the World Wrestling Federation schedule each year. It has become a WWE tradition displaying some of the best matches of the year in an all American patriotic theme. To many wrestling fans, it is the Superbowl of the summer.

The Great American Bash began as a WCW event in 1985. The WWE purchased the WCW in 2000. The WWE discontinued the event until 2004 when it became a fixture of the SmackDown! summer season. Tickets have always been difficult to buy. During its years as part of the WCW, The Bash was typically held in Baltimore. In the last 5 years, it has been held in Norfolk, Buffalo, Indianapolis, and San Jose. Fans typically travel from accross the country to attend.

This year's bash will be held in Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale New York and tickets are as hot as ever.

The WWE uses the event to pull out all stops to emphasize its patriotic theme. Every detail including posters, tickets, sales promos, even the ring ropes are adorned in red, white and blue. The event is held appropriately each July, typically in the last week of July. All U.S. military personal can see it for free, on T.V. or in the stadium.

Each year top matches from the WWE brands; such as Raw, Smackdown!, and ECW are featured. The 2007 event included a Triple Threat Match and a Texas Bullrope Match.

Whether viewed on T.V. or in person, The Great American Bash is a top ticket event. It's is one of most anticipated events with a patriotic theme and wall to wall action. You cannot discount its ability to thrill wrestling fans across the country.
